Funny though - historically, it was the religious figures looking for endorsement from politicians. Which Byzantine emperor was declared a saint just because he stopped slaughtering Christians and started slaughtering their opponents instead? And now it's the politicians who seek endorsement from these men and women of strange composition. Strange times, strange place.
