Could either be a bot sending mail as you (spoofing), or sending mail *to* you, designed to look like a delivery failure, so you might actually open it.

There seems to be no limit on what these criminals will do to try to get you to open their spam. There was one recent variation on spear phishing, accurately targeted at something like 200 CEOs of major corporations. The spam was designed to look like a subpoena. The security industry promptly dubbed it "whaling" :-\
