May be you can post the code of the form (open it from the Class Browser menu, View Code)?

The two textboxes on the form should be named txtUserID and txtPassword correspondingly. The controlsource for these textboxes should be left blank.

>So I renamed the textboxes to the corresponding field names in the users dbf (was this what you meant or should they be different) and now when I try to just run the form it gives the error of variable password is not found unbinding object password.
