Randy,

You can check

vartype(m.myObject) = 'O' && works only for simple objects, for the object property on another object you may use GETPEM() or PEMSTATUS() or TYPE()

Or

type('m.myObject') = 'O' and not ISNULL(myObject)
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
