One of the ideas would be to have a macro that puts something like

* _screen.caption in the Command window. So, you switched, pressed something (or add Intellisense macro) and it would tell you which what application this window belongs.

>>Can you change the caption for each VFP instance? That works for me, and I usually have 6 or 7 VFP environments open at a time.

_screen.Caption = JUSTSTEM(SET("DIRE"))
in a startup program for every relevant instance of VFP. I don't have a problem identifying which instance I want to get to.

It is not always visually obvious which one of them belongs to the active VFP instance. Clicking on the wrong one is an annoyance, but occasionally a problem if I don't notice and start typing something inappropriate for that instance.

The second is to change the color in the titlebars (VFP and Command Window) but I don't know how to do that either.

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
