It took me years, really, to finally take the tests. It was expensive then as I recall (or expensive to me). People I knew kept on me for not getting certified. I finally did. I had actually taken the training twice - I had two separate employers who paid for it. Plus I worked with Novell for 10 years. It really made no difference as I stopped working with Novell before the certification actually. That's how it goes!

Novell is like any other certification, I was always more impressed by someone who had actually had to use that knowledge on a regular basis and not on a piece of paper. I met quite a few CNEs who couldn't perform basic tasks on a Novell system let alone resolve issues and quite a few admins who were excellent but never bothered to take the tests to get certified.
