>>Avast anti-virus software finds a virus called Win32:Rbot-FVC in my VFP 9.0 executable while Norton and AVG don’t locate any viruses. Avast doesn’t find the virus in the development version, only in the run-time version. It would be nice to find that Avast is generating a false finding. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

The web site you suggested opened up other possibilities because there were four other AV apps that indicated a virus in my exe. I ran into this on forum.siliconrealms.com:

"Lots of antivirus companies don't properly use signatures. Someone wrote a virus and used Armadillo. The AV company is simply triggering on the Armadillo signature, not the actual malware.

Are you using a custom build? If so, change which build you use and the issue typically goes away.

I've even had the "reputable" AV companies like Symantec and McAfee trigger on my software before.

I haven't followed up on the recommendation yet but it could be the cause since I'm using Armadillo.
