After dropping my daughters off at school this morning I passed a handmade sign by a bend in the road. "You killed my dog" was scrawled on a piece of cardboard about three feet square, the sign attached to a stick and hammered into the ground.

Putting aside the possible effrontery of displaying this sign to every motorist who passes by on this busy road, at most one of whom killed the person's dog, I thought it was an excellent reminder to not let dogs run in the road. Right?
