>Not that I have any interest in Novell (other than SUSE) networks but last year I read an article about a Novell server being found behind a closed wall. Apparently, the server had continued to work and had been used daily for years before someone discovered that the server was behind the wall. It never went down and never required a reboot.

Such things happen.
Way, way back I had an NT 3.1 (yes 3.1) workstation I was experimenting with. I left that company in 1993.
3 Years later I stopped by for a visit.
The new IT Director (that's what I had been) asked me to come into my old office and asked me if I knew the password for the box on the table. Sure enough that was my NT 3.1 box exactly where I left it. I went over to it, gave it the 3 finger salute and hit Enter and logged in. His jaw dropped.
The IT folks didn't know what it did (nothing really), and didn't know the password (it was blank - I thought that was pretty easy back then). They had just left it running hoping nothing bad happened.
