Thanks, I forgot about the .object trick. Unfortunately, it still has the same problem. It's weird because if I step through the form loading I see the value in the control and then when I hit the next line after the "DO FORM foo NOREAD", the contents of the RTF control just goes away.

Is there another way, other than using NOREAD, that would allow me to bypass putting focus on the form?
