No,
the combo is defaulted to an empty value at first.
If the user simply goes through the controls with TAB, he shouldn't wait for the combo to be populated.
Checking inside keypress() and mousedown() seems to work, I was just wondering if there was a single point to be checked.
As I wrote to Gregory, in this particular case, the dropdown() event seems to be affected by the "chasing its own tail" syndrome :-)
