In theory, WCF unifies transport methods. In practice, asp.net blogs are now showing how to do REST over WCF. If all you are going to do is a REST service, is there an advantage of WCF over ASMX? Based on watching "concepts made code" over the years, I would suspect not; but one has always to be willing to be shown. <s>

PS: I'm just now remembering how SOAP was touted as such a big advantage over REST (which was so easy to do using xWorks, everything is straight VFP code, back in the day)... The more things change...
