We know it would be simple for MS to give Office 2007 users choice of 2007 ribbon or classic menu, but MS chooses not to offer that option. They want to control the direction. It bothers me, but in capitalistic system users vote with dollars only, as is happening with Vista. I purchased upgrade to Office 2007 at home because I wanted One Note, which I haven't used so far, but the experience was enough to prove again that Office upgrades don't make sense. The only interesting thing in Office 2007 was search in Outlook.

The dilema is when you need a new machine. Big opportunity for alternative OS and office suite. I would pay 10% extra for true MS Office work-alike, just to promote alternatives. Is anyone listening? Apple? Sun? IBM? Google?
