I was in the meetings at the MVP Summit where we talked to Alan Griver about fixing things. The MVPs had prioritized the major known bugs. We gave the list to Alan. He could not guarantee that anything would be done because there is no team and if things can get worked on, he could not guarantee a time frame. People would have to do the fixes on their own time or be allowed to work on the bugs by their current managers. There are other issues regarding testing and distribution (hot fixes, another SP, or some other method) that had to be worked out. The bottom line, Alan did not say "no". So, the door is open that things may happen.

Most of the issues in SP2 have work arounds. Unless you have a specific issue that does not have a work around, there is no reason to not install SP2.
