Hear, hear. Ethanol, at least by our methods, requires more energy to create than it can produce. The Brazilians use sugarcane and I really don't know if that's more efficient but if we're serious about ethanol, we should be using non-food crops.
We should power cars with NASA's RTGs - radio-thermal generators. A couple of pounds of plutonium and you're good for 50 years. :-)
