Hey, the last time I was at Food Lion, Captain Crunch was on sale for 2 boxes for 4.00 so I bought two. I hadn't had any since I was a child. Now my daughter is hooked on them for a snack (she eats it dry). As for poptarts, those were snacks for my daughter and her friends (when they were little) on long car rides :o)

However, if I had to manage my grocery money, they would not be on my list...

>>OK, in an article where food stamp recipients are saying they have to water down milk, there's an interesting photo at the beginning of the article:

>>Why is it our problem that she can't manage money? Disgusting.

>It's fair to say a lot of people on food stamps have a hard time managing many parts of their lives, money being only one of them. I have seen similar scenes of shopping carts filled with uneconomic and unhealthy foods like Cap'n Crunch, Cheetos, Pop Tarts, and big bottles of orange soda. You would think the 5 year old was the one choosing the groceries. That said, I'm sure the rising prices of food staples have had on impact on those with fixed incomes, so it's a legitimate news story.
