I found Dabo (www.dabodev.com - watch the videos) to be very easy to learn and it provides what my customers need. Currently supports MySQL, MsSQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQLite and of course is cross platform (Linux, Mac, Windows).

Pros:
Easy to learn:
Because the python oop follows the same thinking in VFP.

What my customers need:
I'm able to create and deliver a data form without much fan fair.

Great support!

Cons:
The IDE environment is not complete. There is a GUI designer but doing any but the simple and straight forward stuff requires hand coding. But it is improving.

Learning a new language is tuff but at least python is very straight forward.
