I agree with your general point, and have said many times myself that disagreeing with an administration's policies is not the same thing as being unpatriotic. That said, you could have chosen an article that better supported the point. It makes it clear that the 200 students and faculty at Furman were a minority on campus. My guess is they do not think like John.
