>I think marriage is a contract between a man and a woman. Two men cohabitating, or two women doing likewise, is something else. Call it a civil union, or whatever, it ain't marriage.
>
>Some people want to be able to marry a child, still others think they should be able to marry their dog.
These are dead arguments as marriage requires consent which an animal can never give and a minor is not legally allowed to give.
>Then there are those folks who think a man can have many wives.
If marriage is a
fundamental right as opposed to a privilege I can see this argument coming up in the future based on the 1st and 14th amendments.
>Why don't we ever see one woman marrying many men?
It's called Polyandry and is not an unheard of phenomenon.
>Words mean things, and marriage means a man and a woman....
