I am writing an application to read data from a GPS logging device using the MSCOMM control. All communication will be initiated by the FoxPro applicaiton which will send a command string then receive and parse data sent from the device.

Everything works fine if I type the commands in the command window, but if I transfer the same series of commands to a prg, I cannot capture the input. I stepped through the code and can see the input property flash then it is cleared before the next line of code.

I also tried using the MSCOMM ActiveX control (with RThreshold set to 1), but the OnComm event does not fire.

Is there anything I can do to capture data sent from the device?
