Entertainment is audience driven.

The music that people want should be what is played. More so, the radio stations are companies trying to make a profit, but they are crippled by the Candian government's regulations. Before you jump in with your reply, transpose the situation to VFP programmers in Canada. What if the government created an agency that forced you to . . say put all text in French and English on each form in your app and in all your tables? I wouldn't give you two cents for the app. You know it too, but the government decided that you do that, or do something else. The whole idea behind the enforcement of Canadian content (MAPL music) was to stop the funneling of cash to recording companies in the USA. So, a law was passed that forced (M)usic (A)rtist (P)roduction (L)yric to be a criteria for Canadian music. All that happened was sub offices of foriegn recording companies were opened in Canada. That satisfied the law. Then the radio stations had the content law hammered into place. Before the law went into effect the number one radio station (the money maker) in Detroit was CKLW in Windsor. Yeah, that's right. It was across the river in Canada. The law hit and CKLW fell off the ratings chart, and they are still rated low, because the listeners moved their radio dial to Detroit stations that played the music the audience wanted and not want the government decided they wanted thirty percent of the time. canadian artists should become successful by applying their talent and not by a Liberal government edict. The artists agree with me. Well, at least, the good ones do.
