Who cares? I hate this whole 'Canadian content' nonsense. It's an invitation to produce mediocrity. People want what they want. If Canadians producers turn out what people want, they'll make money at it. There's a lot of crap in the U.S. entertainment industry, but if that's what people want to watch, then I suppose they have that right. No reason why Canadians can't also turn out the same sort of crap if they want. But there is quality too, and why shouldn't people be able to get that quality if they want it.

It even goes further than that. Look at Canadian football. We have a Canadian content rule there too, and to make it even more ridiculous, we have awards for best Canadian player etc. Why? Because Canadian players can't compete with American players? Utter nonsense. We want to be world class on the global stage, but are absolutely unwilling to compete on an even plane.
