Hi Paul,
It turned out the error was in one of the unrelated test pages where I tried to play with the more complex User Control consisting of a bunch of UC. Once I removed that page from the project, everything is back to normal - e.g. I'm able to run my page and now working on the errors I had before slowly fixing them one by one.
Too bad I have to run now :(
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
