When I was a child (8-11 yrs old), I lived in the country near a town of 8,000. My cousin lived in another county in an unincorporated area and she would write me letters with only my name in the address, nothing else. I received them. Back in those days the mail carrier knew the names of every one on his route (and every one probably knew him personally as well).
