Could be. To me they both seem like fairly traditional liberal Democrats in their positions. We probably have less of an idea about Obama's positions given that he has not been around as long. I don't know that he will be an "ultra-liberal," as some are trying to paint him, even though he has mostly voted the party line in his first years in the Senate. Most freshmen with any sense do that.
