>>What do you consider trivial? Sitting on a board with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn (and being in his home and calling him his friend publicly), the man who states that he doesn’t regret detonating bombs in the Pentagon and a police station but denies he is a terrorist and gets away with it? Belonging to a church with separatist and racist views for 20 years but claiming to never heard or share those views? A relationship where he promoted and supported Louis Farrakhan, an obvious anti-semitic and then denouncing his words during the election? Writing books clearly anti-white but promoting unity in an election?

>Dahlink, are you trying to say that neither of the Dems is worth a dang?<g> I reckon you're openly (as in publicly) conceding that McCain will be your candidate, by default. Don't feel bad, there's a bunch of us in this lifeboat, and I hope it doesn't sink.<s>

I'm there too. So many Americans are so in love with empty rhetorics and emotionally charged feel good speeches cloaked in promise of "change we can believe in" (whatever that means),... I worry. Some how "what's best for the country" got changed to "what feels good for ME".

If McCain had Obama's talent (or Obama's speech writter and coach) he'd be almost a sure thing.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.
- Alexis de Tocqueville

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
– Mark Twain (1866)
