I had wondered as well if there were any other consolation prizes she might be after. For Obama having her not in the seat to take over in case of lead poisoning or other environmental health issues must be motivating. Offering her a seat in his cabinet would also give him a nice club to hold over her: he can fire cabinet members easily - just set higher goals or give them hot seats. The same thought makes such a position unattractive to her IMHO. Hil's health bill (small B) was not such a rousing (with blank after a) success AFAIR. VP's can shoot at people and still stay in office...

But Supreme Court I had not on my list and that seems like a nice way to compromize on the surface - how much could Bill capitalize from such a position ? Especially as this would probably be last step for her career ?
