I wish I were more excited about it. There is one very good thing and one very bad thing about the job. Bad news first: the main task is to support a line of business app that is written in FoxPro for Windows 2.6. Yes, you read that right. The good news is they are now developing everything in .NET and this app will be converted as well once they can get it stabilized. Apparently it is buggier than Maine in June. I have been burned twice by companies who told me I would be able to work with .NET and I was used like a ho, just supporting the legacy FoxPro apps. The IT manager, who will be my boss, assured me several times I will be doing .NET. So I'm going to give it a whirl.
The commute is not going to be any fun. It's 35 miles each way and it's a grubby commuter route, not even scenic. I am toying with the idea of getting a used motorcycle. By my guesstimates it would save $35 a week in gas. Plus I could have a job and a midlife crisis in one shot <g>.
>Have a great weekend and good luck with your new job! Exciting! :O) (Well, except for the commute but maybe the environment will be worth it) :o)

>>>Not good enough Mike.

>>No problem. It's up to you whether it's good enough for you or not.

>>Have a good weekend! And probably a good week as well -- I start a new job on Monday with a long commute. May not be around much for a while.
