Title:
Vfp6 vfp9 conversion
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2003 Server
Hello,
I'm responsible for a legacy system now running vfp6. The code is mostly linear, OOP components are basically limited to Forms. There is heavy ODBC activity to Intersystems Cache' by way of .DBC- based Views. Many applications are driven by the Windows Task Scheduler which points each application to a system-wide common startup parameter file. There are significant program-driven interfaces to WS_FTP. Reporting is important and is done by way of Excel and the VFP6 report generator. With two desktops available I plan to put vfp9 alongside vfp6 on both, and move applications over to the "production" desktop as they convert.
Questions: what conversion issues am I likely to encounter in the above scenario?
Should I bring vfp9 up to SP2?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Howie Brown
