No, this is just to improve the accuracy of the MeasureString function.

The displaypath thing worked quite good for me this way

m.loFormat.Trimming       = IIF(lnTrimMode=StringTrimmingEllipsisPath,StringTrimmingCharacter,tnTrimMode)
