>>Depending on how you are publishing your site, ASP still needs to compile the website files. I had a problem with my hosting provider as they had something causing the web server to restart every so often and it was causing my page to get recompiled. I ended up changing to another provider and now no problem. However if I make a change and upload new files it takes a long time the first time through but not after that. I usually do that myself so nobody else sees that.

So, .NET does some additional things that I do not have with COM servers. For example, on this site, as I haven't completed the move the new framework, I support two environments. So, once the server is restarted, for example, IISRESET /RESTART, the COM servers will react in about one second. But, the .NET version will take about 4 to 5 seconds.

I just got an email from the customer; he says he just timed opening of the first page. It took 78 seconds. Way too long. There has to be something with the server there.
