You've heard the term black widow? My father was the fourth victim of one who was quite good at it. She didn't shoot them or anything like that - she married terminally ill men of considerable means, isolated them from their families, wormed her way into legally having claim to most if not all of their estates, and then 'hastened' their demise.

My father had leukemia which we fould out later was likely treatable by marrow transfusion. She very clearly told his doctors that my brothers and I refused to be candidates.

We found that out right after his funeral.

We were told that there wasn't enough direct evidence of malice to effectively prosecute.

About 3 years later we heard from a previous victim's family. Same modus operendi. They told us about 2 before them.
