>I have an application that has ability to to track user access log however this past few weeks I got an error like this 'VFP 41 logusr.fpt is missing or invalid.' when accesing forms or closing the applicaton. I have already tried reading at the VFP help file which is says: Memo file "name" is missing or is invalid (Error 41) - An attempt was made to use a table file whose associated memo file (.dct or .fpt) has been deleted, removed, cannot be found or is invalid but unfortuantely I didnt issue any delete. My colleagues says that when a memo reaches to size 20mb or higher it will cause an error as above mention and the only solution is to clear that memo. I just want to know if this is a bug in Visual Fox Pro? I can't find any knowledge base on this.

Your colleague is wrong. There is an overall limit of 2GB for the memo file, but that's also true for the DBF and the index file.

Just to be sure there wasn't a problem I wasn't aware of, I created a table with a memo field, added a record, and copied a 415MB text file into that memo field. I closed the table and reopened it without any problem.
