I don't see why not. If the universe is curved, then it shouldn't be an issue. If a circle (or a torus) has a finite size, and you are travelling around it (ie - you are light), then your journey may well be infinite regardless that the circle/torus has a finite size.

Understand, I'm not positing that must be how things are, I'm just saying I don't see a problem with the theory.
