I am receiving error 1958 Unable to load printer driver when the needed printer goes offline for various reasons.

The perfect solution would be to check the status of the printer before the app attemps to print and provide a message to the user informing them to contact their network person because the printer is offline. That will make my phone quit ringing because I am not respondible for the printers being available.

I have read and tested everything I can find here (UT) and otherwise and it seems there is no reliable solution. Everything I have tried returns codes indicating the printer is available even when it is off or not connected or otherwise. I find it almost impossible to believe that there is no solution.

Am I missing the obvious? Does anyone know of a solution?
