I have been having this error for years, ever since VFP 6. I have never been able to assoiciate it with anything other that it happens with a non-default printer. All printers are networked through print servers so the printer being off line is not my issue. I ended up inserting a bypass in my framework's error handling so the user just gets a "try again" message. It always works the next time the user tries it.
It will be interesting if anyone comes up with a solution other than a "Try...Catch" work around.
Thanks,
Dennis

>The perfect solution would be to check the status of the printer before the app attemps to print and provide a message to the user informing them to contact their network person because the printer is offline. That will make my phone quit ringing because I am not respondible for the printers being available.

Everything I have tried returns codes indicating the printer is available even when it is off or not connected or otherwise. I find it almost impossible to believe that there is no solution.
