Have look at www.report-sculptor.com

It might offer alternative aproach. You can build form based report with ordinary (your own) controls
and then add some drag & drop for user to move fields. (objects)
Aldough this look to me as single page report, If you need you can also easily do free page composition
with prefixed number of report pages.
