It doesn't say much about the contents of the book; but it does seem to concentrate on "extra dimensions". I understand that this is an integral part of string theory. In summary, our universe is supposed to have not only 4 dimensions (3 space, 1 time), but 10 or 11 dimensions. The additional 6 or 7 dimensions only appear at tiny scales, so they are not usually "visible" in our daily life.
