I've seen that when I attempted to do what you did from within a framework which was running an EXE. It went away when I started vfp in development mode, and ran the framework's exe from there (changing directory accordingly).

>>To get it working with VFP, you need to do two things. One is to find a better scctext.prg program, which you can do by searching here in the files section. Then, you need to go into the VFP options dialog, Project Tab, and pick your Source Control provider from the dropdown. And then put the pathed reference to the better scctext.prg into the appropriate text field there.
>>
>>That done, the text file for comparison will be generated automatically, so long as you do your checkins through the Project Manager. You can then use your favorite source comparison tool (I like Beyond Compare, but there is at least one other really good one whose name I can't recall), but putting it in the appropriate field in the Vault preferences dialog, so that it gets called as the comparison tool.

>>>Thanks Hank. I am trying out Vault. I think I found the message you mentioned: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=5071&highlight=&sid=839c303fa90aff95d357125570ef39d3
>>>
>>>I am a total newbie in regards to version control, so please forgive the naive questions. How do I go about telling VFP to use Vault for source control? Also, what steps need to be taken so Vault compares properly such VFP files as Forms, Classlibraries, Reports by first converting them to text files? I use Sourcecompare by Glenn Domeracki, and he does that conversion very well in the process of comparing VFP files.
>>>
>>>A more basic question, do you recommend integrating VFP with Vault at all? You cautioned strongly about integrating SourceSafe with VFP.

>>>Thanks,
