Problems with that. We do not have .Net at this time. We do use C and I think we have C++ here. But we are trying to reuse code we already have to do this function in windows. We just have the vfp wrapper dll to call with the record info, a function to write the info where and how it needs to be. We are trying not to have to rewrite everything. But I will pass on your suggestion of .Net.

>You should use a .Net DLL as it runs inside SQL Server 2005. The issue that most DBAs have is with External Stored Procedures, which are written in C++ and can bring down SQL Server, don't get backed up, and can do lots of nasty things. A .Net DLL will solve those problems.

>>Sorry, this is the 3rd different way of trying to figure this problem out. We are running SQL Server 2005.
>> We need, when a specific table in the server has a record inserted into it, we need to make sure that that record info is written out to a special file.

>>hope that makes sense.
