googling for Java Com Bridge (Jacob) will get you started - that is the brigde we used back in '04.
There were/are other bridges but I was not involved in deciding which bridge to use.

For .Net you can find a an example via Ditnetextender on Etecnologia's site and some white papers on Rick's site via more traditional Interop means.

For java you can host the runtime similar to Dotnetextender via JNI, but using COM is probably good enough for a few WS calls.
