This does need to go backwards too. A user could be navigating via keyboard buttons (arrows, page up/down) too. And yes, I'd show "S" if the user typed a "T". I'd show whatever were the 100 prior and the 100 next records regardless of what the user is typing or what navigation keys are being pressed.
