>All countires are not equal - but atguing for such treatment often leads to one of the worst analogue "interpretation" of how votes should be "counted" in assemblies like the general UN. If a small country fragmentizes, why should it's "voting power" increase just by splitting into different states ? Why not weigh at least on head count or money being given ? Yes, I know there are non-altruistic reasons for "helping", but just a head count of one represantative of each "nation" is ridicolous as well.

There was ways to accomodate for UN having more balanced power sharing. UN is an Organisation, structure and you can eighter build it, respect it - or destroy it depend what kind of motives are driving you.
Take EU as an example. You cannot possibly expect Lichtenstain and Germany to have the same weight. And there are provisions
to preserve that weight for Germany.

UN was literally rocketed as world body, simply becase it cannot be established on anything else but those positive principles such are equality among nations, legality, abiding to international laws decisions etc.
(Remember US refusing to sign up international law/tribunal about war crimes ? When/why was that ?).

Who would accept membership in EU, if it was established according to the principles which some people here
find 'not really cosher' but 'generally acceptable' if it is for the 'right cause' ?

So Germany or France being one of biggest donors to Brussels tax pot could simply decide that Slovakian 'regime' is all of a sudden 'rogue' right after they discovered Oil reserves twice bigger then SaudiA there. Then they could send all bunch of money to various activist groups, make up media stories about repression etc. and eventually even send troops to 'fight for right cause'.

And all that should be generally accepted and condoned by everybody else in Brussels.
Now if they don't accept it (in full) then Brussel is bunch of crooks, birokrats, yada yada ....

What kind of world this leads us to ? UN was one genuine attemt to establish something called modern civilisation versus
jungle we lived in before 1945. Idea was to make sure that two world wars, holocausts, and entire history of wars and mayhem before that never happen again. End of cold war was real chance to make world better place by actually making UN more important in world politics (simillar to the way Brussels gradually gained importance last 30 years) European countries today respect Brussels decisions and policies don't they?

EU gradually progressed from an Organisation to an International entity. Why ?? Because European countries agreed on some positive principles and they were sincere enough in building common house on top of that foundation.
And It will exist for as long as those principles are respected.

Unfortunately in greater world that never happened. I am afraid we are on head-on collision course with complete jungle.

Peace
