Jim,
having several of those attack the wiper blades and windshield seals.Difficult to believe until you see it! A band of birds deliberately ripping rubber out of your windshield or wipers while chatting to each other is not something you expect of birds.
There's a story of one called "Lucy" in the San Diego zoo who used to stage breakouts at night, trashing the veterinarian quarters or freeing dozens of other birds kept as part of breeding programs before closing herself back in her cage to act innocent.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
