Those shooting events your talking about are fine with me as well as long as they are safe. I've done that a few years ago. However there were great safety measures involved. However it does not make sense to have guns widely and legally available. A friend of mine used to hunt, He was checked at home regulary how his rifle was stored. He could only travel from his house to the hunting ground in the shortest route with his rifle.

One carried a gun for a ew different reasons. To target shoot. To Trap shot. To hunt, and to excersize your God given right to defend you and your family.

For you to call these reasons 'dumb' marks you as unworthy of rational debate.
