>Now this confuses me. FF just did a s/w update on my puter, yesterday, and now I'm on v 2.0.0.15 . So how come it didn't upgrade me to 3? Or is that a version you have to pay for or summat? In any case, I've not seen any ad or banner urging me to upgrade.

I think you have to pro-actively go get FF 3.0. It's still free and is probably worth doing if you open a lot of tabs as the memory is handled better and released better.

Evidentally it must be turned on for FF for it to run but especially mulit-media addins seem to crash it pretty regularly (though it is impressive how well FF can recover from a crash and bring up exactly what you had open when it went boom)

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
