I've trained myself to say "prawcess" when I'm speaking to Americans to avoid the strange looks <g>. One thing I never understood is why "process" is pronounced "prawcess" but "professional" is pronounced with a long "o".

Another vowel sound difference I've noticed between Canadians and Americans is "a". For example, we pronounce many words with an "ah" sound that you pronounce as "aw", such as "pasta".

Not all parts of Canada say "oot" and "aboot". That's an Eastern thing. We in the West look at Canadians who say "aboot" the same way you do <g>.
