Well, get real. We had a whole generation of seasoned warriors ruling the country for a few decades. Believe me, there's only one thing that most of them do the best - fight. Not exactly the guys you would want to rule the country, they may be seeing too many nails around that fit their best hammer.

Honor where honor is due, but no more than that - I'd actually prefer to keep the soldiers out of politics, even when they retire.
