>>>Hi Chris,
>>>
>>>>
>>>>John, its delusional to suggest that Obama "brought this up without anyone questioning his patriotism". These smears are normally reserved for whisper campaigns, comparable to the McCain "fathered an illegitimate black child" story in SC in 2000. But its remarkable how mainstreamed this stuff has become. With 'fair and balanced' Fauxnews at the forefront of the smearing with their "educated in a madrassa / muslim" story that was quickly debuked. Yet i still get emails from my wingnuttia buds who pass that krap on. Not to be deterred, Faux recently gave us the "Terrorist fist jab" gem. Hell, those tools bypassed the "is he patriotic?" conundrum and went to labelling him a terrorist. Saves time that way. Faux also gave us the "he came out of the closet as the domestic insurgent he is", "manchurian candidate", "hussein hussein hussein", "he swore on the Koran while taking the oath" charge, lapel pins, pledge of allegience 'concerns', and poll questions such as "Does Obama show
>>>>proper patriotism for someone who wants to be pres?" (CNN).
>>>
>>>Wait a sec. You're going to use a propaganda term for Fox News ("Fauxnews") and then complain about the propaganda??? How Orwellian is that??? How can I argue a point with someone who refers to sources in those terms? Your mind is made up, dude, you have drank the koolaid. No matter what I say it's going to come down to "faux" so why bother?
>>>
>>>>And there's MSNBC, AP, and CBS giving life to these stories. Plus the usual suspects like Jonah Goldberg, NYTimes Kristol, Rush, Hannity, and Beck do their part. Claiming no one questioned his patriotism is simply bizarre.
>>>
>>>None of the sources you mentioned have questioned his patriotism. Not one. All of them have questioned his experience and policies, though, which is different. Man, that kool-aid must be good.
>>
>>
>>You caught me w/ the 'fauxnews' observation. Good call. I take it that you're still clinging to your ridiculous assertion that "Obama brought this up without anyone questioning his patriotism". Sounds like you have the koolaid market cornered with that train of thought. All of those sources i noted have questioned his patriotism. 'Terrorist fist jab', 'manchurian candidate', 'domestic insurgent, 'madrassa educated', koran swearing, months of lapel pin & pledge of allegiance stories and "what that means" analysis, etc.... should have tipped you off. Hopefully we can get past the over the top rhetoric of 'possible terrorist' charges and get back to the less shrill 'patriotism-challenged' smears.

>Don't forget Satan. John H. brought it to our attention just this morning that Obama is Satan himself.

Mike, if you're unwilling to either feminize, or demonize (literally), or label as a terrorist the "opposition", then how are you gunna make the decision easy for yourself? Stick to the cliches, then ask yourself "Are you for Satan and/or Terrorists, or against them?". Easy. Besides Glenn Beck had this "Is Obama The Anti-Christ" conversation with John Hagee already. Really. On TV. I suspect JohnH is regurgitating some of that perhaps.

Which reminds me, the McCain camp's hysterics in response to Clark's comments that being shotdown and imprisoned doesnt by themselves make for presidential material shows that McCain is too thin-skinned and it continues to feed his hothead image that he just cant shake. Do we really want a forgetful thin-skinned septuagenarian hothead with his finger on the button? Plus, being held captive all those years by the VC, how do we know he's not THE manchurian candidate? (Charles beat me to it.) Also, the guy was born in Panama! And Noriega's from Panama! Coincidence?
