I'm pretty sure I remember Ken Levy saying here, when he was the Product Manager, that upgrade rate and revenue stream are factors in whether any Microsoft product is kept alive. No reason not to believe that.

But he didn't seem to be talking about that, though I suppose he could have meant that and poorly stated it. However he had chances to clarify and, to my knowledge, never mentioned this free loader issue.

I know that Andy spoke at a conference in Prague a few years ago, and that it was said there that about two thirds of the VFP programmers in eastern Europe and Asia used illegal copies. I also know that Andy appreciates the VFP community very highly, I will never believe that he meant to hurt any of is. Why else would he continue to spend so much of his time to speak at conferences and help other programmers?
